Medical startup Scanadu informed customers today it will no longer support its Scout device starting May 15, 2017.

The reason? Though Scanadu has been working with the Food and Drug Administration to get full approval for this and other devices, it seems Scout didn’t make the cut.

08/2016  Het bemeten en/of op je smartphone invoeren van diverse lichaamsgegevens wordt langzamerhand gemeengoed.

Op die manieren noteren ervan brengt je mogelijk tot verstandiger eten en bewegen, of tot tijdig doktersbezoek.

Marketingpermissie via FDA of CE-markering moet nog worden verkregen.

 

Het apparaat komt mogelijk pas maart 2014 op de markt.

Vanwege alle mediatumult,  is het nu al in deze database opgenomen.

 

Een moderne hoogtechnische eend in deze grote vijver van Rare Apparaten, die je in een oogwenk kan voorzien van een handvol getallen en die getallen ook nog opslaat en naar je computer  overbrengt.

 

De grootste misleiding zit hem in de reclame:

Het is alsof je een dokter in je zak hebt.

Terwijl je met zo een apparaatje erbij duidelijk geen dokter bent geworden of zelfs maar doktertje kunt gaan spelen.

Het vermelde ECG is een sterk vereenvoudigde (Single Channel) versie van die welke professioneel wordt ingezet.

Bloeddruk wordt weergegeven zonder gebruikmaking van een opblaasmanchet. Waar die dan nog voor kan dienen is niet duidelijk.

Met het duidelijke risico dat je bij pijn je oversimpele apparaatje tegen je slaap houdt en dan afleidt dat je niets hebt.

Dat zou precies je laatste beslissing kunnen zijn omdat je zonder je geruststellende Scout-uitlezing terecht ongerust naar je arts was gegaan.
