A.M.D Biores Machine is a resistance based machine that measures the flow of energy (low as 5 micro-amps) on tiny little spots on meridians the body which reading would indicate if a particular organ is normal or under-active A Topographic Positions of 172 measurement points on the body, 

Mainly both hands and feet and head are used.  

Originated by Reinhold Voll (around 1959) in Germany and a Swiss company build the first instrument and was import to South Africa by Dr AP de Nysschen 22 years ago, know as Semi-Acutest. This was further improved by a missionary from New Zealand, with Electronics as profession, by borrowing one of the two Acutest machines from Dr de Nysschen, which could then test all biological responses, test the prescriptions to see which will be the best, and test the dysfunctions to see if they diet relates or caused by parasite poisoning of the liver! 

Known as Biores machines, there are now two models available as a Junior (9V battery operated for home use) and Senior (working from mains the professional/practice) use selling for up to R6500.00 each. Both with meter indicating 40 and the currant at the tip of the probe is 5 micro-amps at 8,5 hertz.
